Second Chance

In addition to providing basic and advanced care for residents at Susana Homes, Right Steps also works with local residents on initiatives that build skills to help struggling mothers and young people survive and thrive in society.

Second Chance is a skills acquisition project, which serves to help destitute mothers who come into the program to learn agricultural skills and/or the trades they engage in as part of their rehabilitation program.

Also included in the Second Chance initiative is Right Steps’ independent living program, which works to prepare teenagers and young adults for the future by training them with skills needed to live independently, to support themselves and make a living through contributing to society.

Finally, Susana Homes’ self sustaining efforts also operate under the Second Chance project, which includes raising animals and crops for the Home’s consumption or cash income.
